Making its debut in 2000, Celebrity’s Millennium was the first of its class and the first ship to use an emissions-reducing gas propulsion system. This classically styled ship is a large one, holding 1,950 passengers and weighing in at 91,000 tons. Rooms are elegantly decorated and of the 1,059 staterooms, over 800 are oceanview and 500 of those have balconies. There are also suites and penthouse style accommodations on board for those wishing to stretch out a bit.

Dining choices include five different venues, from the elegant two-deck Metropolitan to the health-conscious Spa Café. The Ocean Grill is open almost 24 hours a day and the ships for-charge alternative restaurant, the Olympic, provides another option in fine dining. Dress code usually includes at least two formal nights, with casual dining options always available for those not wanting to don their tuxedo.

Guests can enjoy music and shows in the Celebrity Theater, take a tango lesson or relax in the two-story library. The Millennium’s AquaSpa has a top-notch fitness center as well as assorted spa treatments. Late night partying takes place at the Cosmos and Rendezvous lounges, as well as games of chance in the casino. For a learning experience, the Discover Enrichment series offers history and information on the areas being visited and an onboard naturalist providing educational information on the plant and animal life in the regions. Children’s programs include the Ship Mates Fun Factory and the X-Club, dividing youngsters into age-appropriate groups and providing supervised activities.
